writing
Nothing new here yet — on purpose.
Four essays on Medium, 2022–23 — optogenetics, brain–computer interfaces, connectomics, and a convolutional net built from scratch. Self-taught explainers, written as I learned each one, not lab credentials. Nothing new has landed on this domain yet: it ships forward-only, and an empty page is a status like any other here.
forward-only · unpublished
Cadence over volume. A queue that fills itself to look busy is a failed pipeline; this page stays blank until there is something I actually mean to say. When a piece is finished and I have signed it, it lands here — and you will be able to date it.
previously, on medium — earlier public learning, ~2022–23
Before this site existed, I taught myself some neuroscience out loud by writing about it. Four essays — self-taught explainers, not lab credentials — still live on Medium. They are older and a little rougher than what I would write now, and that is exactly why they stay up: earlier public learning, dated honestly, linked to rather than rebuilt here.
- 01 Optogenetics — switching neurons with light Feb 2022
- 02 Brain–computer interfaces Dec 2022
- 03 Connectomics — mapping the wiring May 2023
- 04 Building a CNN from scratch Jul 2023
All four are on medium.com/@spsjadon9. Nothing from that archive is reconstructed or re-hosted on this domain — the link goes to the original, dated where Medium dates it.
